SUNY Fredonia: Houghton Hall
Buffalo Construction Consultants (BCC) completed this complex higher education renovation project on the SUNY Fredonia campus in February 2021. The BCC project team included subconsultant and project partner Rogers Enterprises (MBE).
The team worked extensively with SUCF and SUNY Fredonia staff to ensure safe implementation of work around campus and student activity. The project included a full renovation of a 74,0000 sq. ft., 3 story late-1960s science building for use by Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Informational Studies. Other project features include, exterior envelope reconstruction and preservation, as well as replacing current steps and ramp with a new barrier free accessible exterior entrance ramp and stairway to meet current standards. The BCC team successfully delivered this complex fit-out and renovation project on the active SUNY Fredonia campus by ensuring exemplary planning and communication with SUCF and university representatives.
BCC was selected by State University Construction Fund in 2018, in 2021, and again in 2024, to a three (3) year term contract. In addition, BCC is currently working with SUCF on the completion of Binghamton University Bartle Library, Binghamton University New Lecture Hall, SUNY Geneseo Sturges & Fraser Halls, SUNY Geneseo Milne Library, and SUNY Buffalo State Central Heating Plant.
