The Sumitomo Decommissioning Project involved a detailed and highly coordinated effort to safely remove and prepare specialized manufacturing equipment for transport. The scope of work included the disconnection of all utilities — including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems — serving 54 PCR (Passenger Car Radial) tire press machines.
Following the utility disconnection phase, each tire press was carefully disassembled by skilled technicians to ensure structural integrity and minimize risk of damage during relocation. Components were systematically organized, protected, and prepared for shipping according to industry best practices, allowing for efficient transport to their next destination.
Throughout the project, strict safety protocols and logistical planning were maintained to ensure minimal disruption to surrounding operations and adherence to Sumitomo’s quality standards. The successful execution of this decommissioning work marked a critical step in the overall transition and reorganization of the facility.
