Maryvale Union Free School District
2021 Capital Improvement Project, The 2021 Capital Improvement Project focuses on the construction of a new gymnasium and associated support spaces within the main high school building. The scope included the complete demolition of the existing gym and adjacent areas, followed by the construction of a larger, modern facility. Key features of the new gym include a second-level running track, locker and team rooms, a fitness center, concessions area, multipurpose space, conference and film rooms, and a clerestory main entrance. Additional project components include the reconstruction of the main drive, installation of new interior lockers at the middle school, and the replacement of the existing mud floor in the middle school basement with a concrete slab.
2018 Capital Improvement Project. As part of the 2018 Capital Improvement Project, the Maryvale Union Free School District launched a comprehensive initiative to modernize learning environments and upgrade infrastructure at the Primary School, Middle/Intermediate School, and High School.
District-wide improvements include full roof replacements, major M/E/P system upgrades, and building envelope repairs—all aimed at improving energy efficiency, building performance, and long-term durability. Site enhancements also improve safety, accessibility, and traffic flow across all campuses.
A major highlight of the project is the transformation of athletic facilities. The main stadium is being converted to synthetic turf for greater durability and extended use, while a new multi-purpose turf field will accommodate baseball, softball, soccer, and lacrosse, supporting year-round athletics and community engagement.
This project reflects the district’s commitment to safe, modern, and high-performing spaces for students, staff, and the broader community.
